i don't see why not. If pulling up why not mount the hoist there instead? the pully could add or change the lift's lifting weight.

I asked my son (who is the one who is going to mount our hoist). He hasn't done so yet, but he said that he imagines that you could possible mount it on a wall as long as it is not in the path of a doorway. You probably will have to use your own trial and error. Sorry, and good luck.

I got this for my husband. He has it mounted from the rafter. So I am sorry, I don't know if you can do that. I can tell you he loves it. He uses to hang the deer he cuts.

It can be mounted to anything, question should be is what your you’re mounting it to able to support whatever you’re lifting with it.
If you’re running a pulley system up to the ceiling, you may want to span a couple rafters for extra support
