No, just lift them in basket. Our 2 Maltese are under 9lbs so easy. Wife uses stroller everyday for their walk except weekends. After numerous other strollers & a lot of wasted $$$, this is by far the best stroller out their, best looking also. It can be converted to a carrier also and for cars. Highly recommend!! TKX

Are the back wheels supposed to flex inward?
NO, all wheels are straight and aligned. Easy to roll and maneuver. Really, really great stroller !! We bought this stroller for our 2 Maltese dogs to replace 3 other smaller wheeled strollers that kept breaking all the time. This stroller does it all, and is built sturdy and tuff. Look great, gets many people saying so all the time. Highly recommend!! TKX
