Yes but it is not much sitting room. I use it to prop foot when shaving legs and bottom shelf is great for extra storage room of shampoos, etc.

Yes. It's very sturdy but I don't sit on it. I'm just recovering from hip surgery and since it's only 17" high, I'm not sure I could get up. :)
