Is it possible to disable the locking mechanism?
No, the locking mechanism cannot be removed, otherwise it will affect the slide structure.

can the inner slide be removed from the outer slide? In the installation graphic, step 2, how could 2 bolts which are mounted towards the back section of the slide possibly hold a load when the drawer is opened?
Hello, this slide rail is detachable. When the slide rail is pulled out, it can bear about 60 kg. In addition, considering safety, it is not recommended to put all the weight on the outermost end to avoid the cabinet tipping over. It is recommended to place objects in a relatively balanced manner.

Can the slide sections be separated for drawer removal after installation, i.e., without removing the slide section from the drawer?
Yes

Can these be locked in any position? For instance, if I pull the drawer half way out can I lock it there?
The slide rail only locks when it is fully closed or fully opened. When in use, you need to press the yellow lock handle and then pull it to open or close.

Can the locking mechanism be removed if I don't want these slides to lock???
Not without grinding the piece of metal out that catches, unfortunately.

Yes, you can permanently remove the lock if you want. There are pros and cons to doing this, but is relatively easy to do. In order to remove the locking mechanism, there are 3 rivets which can be drilled out. There are also a couple springs to remove. Just be sure to clean up any metal shavings from drilling out the rivets or they will cause the slide to catch or bind. Again, this is permanent, so you can’t put it back in if you change your mind. Also, the single slide with the locking mechanism will no longer have a stop when opened fully (the other slide has a stop, so this should not be problematic).
