Once mounted, is there a way to completely remove the drawer. Like a button or latch thstcwill diconnect the drawer mounted portion of the slide from the cabinet mounted portion of the slide.
This product is detachable. You only need to turn the clip to remove the inner rail from the slide rail, as shown in the figure below: https://we.tl/t-FvuuEfrZLq.

Can these slides be used under a cargo trailer to use as the base for a step into the trailer? Can they handle road debris?
It is not recommended to be exposed to the outside for a long time to avoid corrosion by acid rain. It is also not recommended to install it flatly, as it will derail it.

Can the locking mechanism be removed if I don't want these slides to lock ???
Not without grinding the piece of metal out that catches, unfortunately.

Yes, you can permanently remove the lock if you want. There are pros and cons to doing this, but is relatively easy to do. In order to remove the locking mechanism, there are 3 rivets which can be drilled out. There are also a couple springs to remove. Just be sure to clean up any metal shavings from drilling out the rivets or they will cause the slide to catch or bind. Again, this is permanent, so you can’t put it back in if you change your mind. Also, the single slide with the locking mechanism will no longer have a stop when opened fully (the other slide has a stop, so this should not be problematic).
