Hello, to completely drain the water from the water heater, first remove the pipe from the outlet and detach the safety valve from the inlet. Drain the water through the inlet. Once the water level has dropped to just below the bottom, then remove the T/P valve and pour out the remaining water at the bottom through the T/P valve opening.
