You would need to use at least a 3 inch pipe in order for the magnetic field do you have enough force to hold them in stable hence that’s why it says 3 inch pipe any pipe smaller net probably not gonna work

It won’t work directly to pipe but you could clamp some channel iron down to the pipe and set the drill on it

Doubt it. Mag base is pretty good but if not careful you start lifting base as you drill.

Flat surface is best. For round surface you got to improvise. If pipe is close to ground use something to hold side of machine so it will not slip. On vertical and close to a wall use wooden blocks or something similar
