How deep of a mattress can we use with this hardware? Some murphy beds are limited to 10 inches tall.
This is not related to the height of the mattress, but to the weight. The maximum load-bearing capacity is about 450kg. If the mattress is too thick, it will be overweight.

I'm worried my frame is too heavy (9 springs version). My frame & mattress weighs 300 pounds (140KG) . How much does yours weigh? Does it work well?
My frame is 51 and matress 38 lbs. Im using 5 of 9 and is ok. I tried it 1st with a 9 springs and it tore out one of the tabs. I replaced the tab with a 1/4" bolt. Works ok. Start with fewer springs. 300 lbs. seems very heavy.

The instructions show mounting the brackets horizontally. We don't have room for 14" casing. Can we mount them vertically?
About the Murphy Mounting Wall, Both forward flip and rollover can be installed horizontally or vertically, as long as it is within the load-bearing range, forward flip and rollover installation can be used

Two separate items for vertical and horizontal but with some alteration to sub frame it is possible to use each item the way you need it. Due to safety reasons you may want to look further into it.

Does it include plans on how to build the bed base and frame ?
Also, you can Google the mattress size dimensions or take a measuring tape to it yourself this will give you the dimensions plus one and a quarter inches for the thickness of the hinges

Hello again.  Thank your for replying to my question.  I can't see a way to answer your question, so I will "ask" another question here.  A full-size bed is also sometimes called a "double bed."  It is 54" across and 75" long.  They are bigger than a Twin, but smaller than a Queen.  Would the 5-spring "horizontal" one be better, even though I would not be using it horizontally?
If the bed is in such size, it can be installed upside down or sideways.
