Really depends on the size and the weight distribution/center of gravity of the plant. They would most likely support an average tomato plant.

What is tip made of (part that goes into the ground)? I have rocky soil I’ll be putting them in.

They are made off hard plastic, they give you drill bit to use first. They are not as thick as I was hoping for. Closer to 5/16in than 3/8in.
