Are the louvers electrically/mechanically opened and closed, or is it from the force of the air from the fan? I want it to be semi secure from the outside.

Hi, the louvers are not electrically or mechanically driven. They are opened by the air force when the fan is running and closed automatically by gravity/spring when the fan stops. When the fan is off, the louvers close tightly to keep out rain and debris, providing decent security from the outside.

Can I connect this one to my current exhaust fan with the digital controller with the extra port? I need both

Can these fans be mounted on a ceiling instead of a wall? Will the motor bearings and bushings allow that?
