I've used it twice and have 9 issues with it

This is our second summer using the pump. No issues.

It's not as powerful as you would expect. It pushes enough to water the gardens with a hose, but not enough to use a sprinkler.

Hi 1HP(horsepower)=746W(watts). So 1.5HP=1119W. This will be output power and somewhere close to the amount pulled but there will be some amount of inefficiency so a bit more input power pulled. Also at start-up there is an instantaneous inrush current that I believe can be about 10 times more than the stable running current but it's very quick I doubt it would trip your standard 20A breaker.

It will depend on how high you are lifting the water before the pump , suction side , , and how far you are pumping water to, how high , in feet will the water be pumped , on the pressure side , Simple equation power in watts =volts*amps So you will need to decide on a pump by Gallons per minute , electrical available normally about 5 amps for a pump this size Plumb it all in ,, then operate , measure the amps , multiply that by the volts 120 , to get watts
