The protective cover does not need to be fixed, just put it on, and these fit in the pre-drilled 2x2 vevor post.

do these snap into place? or do they wobble?

They wobble! Mine are so loose in the post holes

They do not snap in place but once insert they do no wobble either. There are no moving parts to make it wobble. Once tge cable is installed your done.
