Any suggestions about bottom cross rod when crossing it? Not very safe for crossing .

Concerned about the bottom horizontal bar...seems to be a trip hazard when stepping over it. Any suggestions?

I've looked over all the documentation and I can't tell which is length in which is width. Could you please clarify?
