The total power is 2.5. When started, the power reaches about 8000 watts. It is recommended that you do not use a generator to run it as unstable voltage and current can cause damage to the machine.

What can be purchased to use this at a residence wired at 240v. Is there a voltage converter that is preferred to give the machine the power it needs?

When you say "total power is 2.5." do you mean this machine requires 25 Amps? I understand some portable generators produce "dirty" electricity. Do you think and inverter generator would be safe for these electronics?
