It works with anything, I have it on std. studs and it carries a 55” tv.
If you have a problem with the studs. Put in a board in between the studs and attach the TV lift to the board.
Keep in mind that if the tv is too heavy, it will swing down! Put a clamp on it to prevent it from going down. A clamp around the pivot point. Where it swings.
