This item fit my needs perfectly it was very easy to put together very well built. The price was reasonable.

At current price of just over $80 this shelf fails to impress in several areas. The assembly instructions are vague not mentioning key instructions like keeping the shelf keyholes oriented correctly or even indicating which direction they should be oriented. Assembly allows you to put the sections together upside down and all pieces require hammering together with tool provided to seat them. Once seated they can be difficult to get back apart if you make a mistake. They also include twice as many end caps as you need making you wonder if you missed something in the assembly. I can understand including a few extra but not double. The unit itself comes well packed with ample packing material to protect it, yet the unit I received had dents in 3 of the 5 shelfs. The shelf metal is certainly not what I would consider heavy gauge it is very thin and even flexes. There is no way I would trust this unit to handle anywhere near 400lbs per shelf or 2000lbs total. I might trust it to hold 100lbs per shelf and a total of 500lbs. Not something I would purchase again unless the price point came down considerably.
