Ignore the review about not chopping up mix-ins. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT! This blends without chopping for a ice cream parlor style milk shake. If you want a mint chip milkshake to still have chunks of chocolate, this is for you. If you want a homogenous mixture where all of the mix-ins are pulverized and unrecognizable, use a blender. That said, your mix-ins need to be prepped to their final form. If you're dropping whole Oreos in, you going to get largely whole Oreos out. Expect some prep for any topping and the need for thick milk shake/boba tea straws. As for talk of a runny or thin milkshake, that idiot probably just put too much milk in it. This requires elbow grease. It's a manual blender. You are forcing the paddle through solid ice cream before the milk starts to be incorperated. If it's making a mess, you have too much milk. If you've never used one of these, look up a instructions! Runny?! This thing has the horsepower to turn ice cream into soft serve with no milk added. You can't just give a product a 1 star review when you don't know how to use it or how it's supposed to work

While the majority of the unit is made of metal, the cylindrical caps are plastic and the actual mixing heads can break easily. Overall it looks and feels great and allows us to make homemade frozen treats just like the restaurants.

Just what I was looking for in a milkshake machine. If ice cream is extreemly frozen, may need to let set out a short while but to be expected. Otherwise works good with minimal milk added.

Not practical for a fast paced coffee shop. Drips excess liquid after every mix. Doesn't have markers for fill lines inside the steel cups. Froths up a little too much for my liking.
