To start, if you're a homeowner looking to buy this because someone just told you it was going to be 1000 dollars for them to do it, stop, don't purchase this, go call a local guy to do it for half the price, because machines like this WILL break your hands if you don't know how to use them right. If you're a guy who knows how to run one of these machines, though, it's NOT a good machine, but it IS good for the price. If you have the money laying around to get a high end spartan, duracable, etc, they're definitely better machines, but this is GREAT for the price. I bought this to do my own sidework apart from my fulltime job, and using it twice it paid for itself. If I can get half a dozen more uses out of it, and I'm sure I can, it will easily have paid for itself and done its job. Don't expect it to be the best machine you've ever used by any means, but it's definitely well worth the price.

All around solid Auger, worked beyond the rentals I used several times, cleared out the drain in half the time it took with the rental Auger. Very solid tool.

This is a serious tool. I was able to put 65 feet of snake around at least 4 90 degree turns in the drain without any problems. It cleared my blockage with ease. One hint: Read the instructions. Especially the part about not using reverse for more than a second or two and only if you are seriously stuck. I didn’t do that and ended up with a rats nest of 1/2 inch cable inside my machine. I was able to get the mesh straightened out with Vevor’s help but it wasn’t fun. Not the tool’s fault.

Finally had the chance to use this on our sewer that seems to have constant draining issues. It worked just as well as one of the more expensive units I have rented from the hardware store. This has a slightly smaller cable width so I was just very careful and went nice and slow. I used a 12” piece of flexible electrical conduit to help feed the cable into the sewer access opening. It was smooth enough that the cable didn’t catch on anything but flexible enough to keep it from kinking or from pinching my fingers and I could still feel when the end was catching on a clog. Unfortunately the way my pipe is designed, I couldn’t use both blades of the cutting tool because it was too wide to fit through the T connector. I just used the blade on one side and it seemed to do a good job of cutting the tree roots that keep growing into the pipe though I think this was made it more noisy.. I do wish that it had another cutting tool that is more of a pincer shape like the rental had. I can always buy additional tool heads so I’m not worried about that. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase. It was slightly more than a 4 hour rental but so much more convenient and I have it on hand whenever the pipes back up and I don’t have to feel rushed to finish the job. If it backs up again, this will have more than paid for itself. It was suggested to wipe the cable with oil when coiling it back up. I run a hose over the cable to rinse it off and put a little oil on a rag to wipe the cable to protect it from rust. The thing is very heavy though. Super sturdy but not something you can lift. Make sure you have a good place to store it out of the elements. Take your time and watch the video instructions. The manual was not very helpful. Vevor should probably get someone fluent in English to rewrite it in a way that makes sense. I’ve done this before so it wasn’t difficult. Just oddly worded in some parts. Awesome product!
