bought to use the MT2 taper with a ER collet chuck. about +/-.002\". not bad for the price and good enough for what im doing. there is tolerance stacking with the ER. so the head its self is proably around +/- .001.(measuring concentricity on MT2 bore to head roation)

I had to return the first one. The base guide was skewed. Sent it back ordered another and wow what a piece of equipment. Everything I needed and more nice precision Tool.

Pretty hard to beat for the money. My only complaint is that the key ways are not machined on center. I ended up making new keys for the head and re cutting the key ways larger and making new keys for the tail stock.

nice peice, just dirty as heck. Needs to be torn down and cleaned prior to use. Not sure why it is not done at the plant when made.

As usual with Vevor, ordering was fine with fast and free shipping! I look at all these Chinese machine tools as kits which have to be disassembled, cleaned, and reworked, then you probably have something that you can work with. This was no exception. Cleaned out all the grit and schwarf then reassembled. Once reassembled, there is .015" backlash which cannot be adjusted out without locking the whole thing up. I suspect alot of the backlash is because there is .009" of slop with the handle input shaft and its bearing sleeve. The output shaft thread protector would only thread half way, so the internal threads had to be recut. Indexing plates were unmarked and needed to be stamped with their correct number of holes. Chuck is OK with .003" runout. Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly went fine. Body is not hardened, jaws and internal gears are. Overall, it is not bad for the price. Would have been nice to reduce the backlash more but beggars can't be choosers.

I immediately stripped it down completely. Filed and sanded the burrs and edges. Cleaned and inspected it entirely. About 4, maybe 5 hours of that plus i built a storage box for it as its box was pretty ratty after delivery.Biggest con i found was the spindle clamp is a little too beefy for the size clamping screw, plus it has too loose of a fit. I easily fit .003" shim into that fit so you have to really reef on the poor little clamp screw to lock the spindle. Its gonna snap the screw.I considered a few options how to address that, but ultimately decided to do nothing for now, (the screw will snap in the middle of an operation, spoiling the work, im sure.)Other cons: the brass angle clamps didnt look the right color, turns out they stick to a magnet lol see picture. A couple cross tip screws were pre-chewed up. The etched on graduations appear accurate but are a little light in color. Couple tool marks, and a few dented edges. The instructions encompass the next two bigger models. That's all i could find being super picky.I got this thing dialed right in after reassembly. I havent dealt with the accessories or the chuck yet but its all there.. excellent machining on the major components. Besides the spindle clamp that is. Genuinely impressed overall. Its a toy for me but i have a few projects in mind and always wanted one. For now its coated in oil and will sit in a box. Would be really cool for a home-made cnc.
