I've had less expensive fans that are usually found at discount stores and home improvement stores that have 3 speeds and an oscillate mode and a 16 to 18 inch fan diameter and an AC induction motor with porous bronze sleeve bearings that will dry up in 2-3 years (sometimes if you're lucky you can get a few more years life out of them if you disassemble the motor and put some oil on the bearing oil wick) but mostly these are disposable. I'm very impressed by this Vevor....It has great air flow that I find perfectly adequate on the #1 low setting .....If you are using in a large room or garage there are 8 additional setting that will blow you away. I really appreciate the remote control for use in my bedroom night fan, the 9 speeds, lighted display on/off setting and oscillate mode can be controlled by the remote.....The DC motor is quiet, efficient and long lasting.

We've had fan about 2 weeks now. Is extremely quiet at lower speeds. Moves plenty of air. As I had never heard of the company this purchase was something of a gamble. But it paid off, the fan was a good purchase.
