Fantastic drain snake. I'm a homeowner and handyman, so I expect a lot out of the tools I use, and this 1/2 inch drain snake did the job of clearing roots, and a clog in a main sewer line superbly. It's robust housing and motor make this item extra special and a great value! I did pick up a few extra tips for it too, and the fit great and stay tight.

The machine works well and solves the problem. The user manual lacks some detail.

Since I have yet to actually use it, I’ll just base my review on the unboxing and assembly of the machine. It is a beast for sure, and that bodes well as far as my expectations for its future drain clearing ability. It is absolutely heavy-duty, so it’s a good thing that it comes with wheels—because, yeah, one is likely to throw their back out trying to heft this thing around anywhere. It was packed super well in form-fitting white Expanded Polyethylene (EPE… i.e. soft Styrofoam), which were even fitted with hard plastic corner inserts on each corner of the box (8 total) to ensure that the contents are protected while en route to the buyer. The instruction manual could definitely be improved to indicate exactly how to install the wheels, which is slightly counterintuitive. The wheel/caster screw/bolt/washer combinations (of which they should also include 12 extra washers and size them up just a bit to give one the ability to place a washer on both sides of the mounting plate, whose holes are large enough to warrant such) must be installed upside down. That is, the bolt head facing the ground and pointed up. Otherwise, if one installs them the typical way with the bolt head facing down and the nut on the bottom, not enough clearance is left for the wheels to swivel freely, and they will instead clash with the nylon nuts. So yeah, having this clearly in the manual would save one from having to untighten all 12 sets of mounting hardware (screw, washer, nylon nut) and then redo everything again! There are only 12 sets of hardware because the two front wheel mounting plates (in my case, also where I chose to mount the two locking swivel casters) only have two through-holes instead of all 4 like the rear. Other than that small detail, assembly was very simple, and I had the beast fully mobile and gliding on the casters in short order. Looking forward to seeing what she can do! After all, clearing the drain is the name of the game.
