Would the Vevor 1hp model HAP750 be suitable for this 18" filter or should I get the 1.5hp model HAP1100? Any advantage to going with a l.5hp over a 1hp?

How much sand does this particular 18 inch filter take for the first time. I read 110 lbs but that does seem a little low even for being a small filter. Thanks y'all I appreciate your time!!!

We recommend adding sand according to the specifications on the nameplate. This data is based on years of usage experience. Adding too much sand can cause leakage during backwashing, and sand can easily get into the sand tank head.

Hello, recently purchased a new sand filter, hooked it up. The “return” side is sucking water in, and the pump side, is pushing water out. We have double checked, unconnected and reconnected, to make sure that the lines are connected to the right port, and, it’s still pushing/pulling water out of the wrong ports. Any suggestions?
