Good until for the money. The engraver itself isn’t any good. Near impossible to find graver knives that fit it. The rest of it works great for a fraction of the price of others.

The unit is great for the price point. The problem is... If you are not already very familiar with engraving then there is a lot of trial and error. The included documentation does not , and i mean DOES NOT specify that you need an external compressor in order to run it. The documentation also dosent note that the second air port does indeed have a power adjustment but the main one does not have a cut off while the second is being used, the 1st graver remains on and hitting while using the 2nd one. Best to just hook up a selector valve to run multiple gravers. The unit is solid but remember... Like any machine it needs maintenance, follow the directions to the letter for maintenance and you wont have a problem. This is coming from a complete noob to engraving. Though i am a pro at mechanical use and maintenance. Most problems encountered by any mechanical device comes from operator error. Subject education and educated realistic expectations will solve almost every problem and give customer support an easier time with actual problems. All this set aside, the best improvement i have done is pulling a compressor from an old hypertherm self contained plasma cutter and integrating it into this unit. It has more than enough umph to push 2 gravers at once and is way betten than hacking up an old airbrush compressor. And makes it portable and all self contained.

As someone new to pneumatic engraving, I was nervous about getting started, but this machine is actually pretty intuitive. The instructions could be a bit more detailed (especially for setting the PSI), but once you get it, it’s easy to use. The foot pedal makes adjusting depth super easy while you work, which I found helpful for both delicate and deep engravings on metal.

I bought this pneumatic engraver for fine jewelry engraving, and it’s a solid machine. After a few days of testing on metal and crystal, I can say it handles both materials with precision. The foot pedal allows for precise depth control, which is a big plus. One suggestion would be more guidance on initial setup, especially with tuning the air pressure, but the machine itself is powerful and reliable. Definitely worth the price—no complaints!

What size collets does the hand piece use to hold gravers? Is it 1/8” or 1/16” or 3/32”? Also, what type of lubricant does the collet have on it? It looks like the collets are covered in some kind of lubricant in the baggies that come with the machine.

The chuck size of the product is 3mm, which is about 1/8 inch. The lubricant is anti-rust oil to prevent the chuck from drying out and rusting.
