This works great if you add some things to make it work safely and more securely. First, I went out and bought better bolts and a set of wider washers to bolt the jack to the base because the included bolt/nut was lacking. Also, need a ratchet strap for safety/securing the strut as the chain included is nearly useless. As far as using it, it can be tricky depending on the strut you're trying to compress. In a lot of cases unbolting the top arm and sliding it down is a necessary adjustment to compress a lot of shorter sedan type struts/springs. Overall I'm glad I bought this.

Worked great!

I purchased this strut spring holder for my father's garage and have used it twice. This tool worked awsome and so easy to us. Also it captured the spring very good that it took away the fears of handling the compressed spring. Very good tool.

I have used this tool twice so far in my shop and it perform well. I don't do many struts but so far it I been satisfied with the tool. Great value for the money. You don't need to compress the coil springs so far, just a couple of inches to remove the struts.
