Compared to the possible damages and the expense of keeping houses warm, this is an excellent way to keep the most sensitive places out of frost damage
This product is being used for exposed hydrants that are 3 feet in height and are not able to be protected by structures. If it had "attachment" ports it would provide a stronger way of placement security.
I attached it to the hose and faucet. I forgot to plug it in until the water had already frozen. I plugged it in and half hour later... Running water! Can't ask for much better.
I installed this cable on my waterline, wrapped with foil. The light shows it is active. The temps were in the low teens last week and no issues with pipes freezing!
