Heats right up!
This heat cable works fine. I have a section of roof that created a dangerous ice dam that damaged the house when it fell. Not this year!

Perfect for seasonal cottage, camp or cabin!
We have an unheated seasonal fairly primitive lake cabin up in the mountains that we use during the summer and shoulder seasons. At higher elevations, pipes can freeze in October and April and cause major headaches, so this is such a great solution! The package includes the encased heating element wires and tape to hold the cable tight when it is wrapped around the pipe. Our water pipes coming into the cabin in the cellar was installed in the 1940s or 50s, and this device is just perfect for our needs. The sensor automatically heats the pipes when the pipe temperature hits a lower temperature and keeps the pipes warmed until the temperature goes back up to 55 degrees. Definitely a great device to give homeowners the peace of mind knowing that as long as you have running electricity, your pipes won't freeze! (Caveat: You must have an electrical outlet installed near where you want to run this.)

Nicely Made - Flexible Applications - Requires Planning
I got this heat tracing to help protect my swimming pool piping in the winter. It is something that I've thought about in the past because our current installation is protected via a thermal response to temperatures that drop below 37 degrees F. That response is that all 3 pumps come on to circulate the water through the system. The only exposed pipes are associated with the pool pump station while all others are below ground. This gave me the opportunity to trace these lines to reduce the need to run the pumps so often. It is worth noting that our winters come at 3 to 5 days at a pop, then it's fall like weather for a week or two. This is why I still need to run the pumps to circulate the water... it helps prevent algae that will grow after 2 or 3 days with no circulation.I won't be able to fully test the system until we get a freeze but, for now I just did as the instructions indicated. I placed the thermal probe into a can of iced water and watched for the power to come on. It did and as soon as I felt a small amount of heat, I unplugged it. I am awaiting some insulation now and will wrap the pipes and insulate them to make a permanent install prior to the first freeze. Hopefully this will work to keep the water from freezing and to send the signal to the controls that the water temp in the pipes (where the system thermal probe is) is above the trigger point and prevent the pumps from engaging. It is worth noting that I'll also be wrapping the pumps and insulating them to help with this freezing stuff.

A must have for pipes that freeze
I have a water pipe that runs out into my garage. It freezes sometimes in the winter. This thing keeps this pipe from freezing. This pipe heater can save you thousands of dollars in repairs. It comes with everything you need to install. The installation of the heater is simple, although accessing most pipes is usually difficult. So far, no problems at all. One other suggestion... Order a longer cord than you think you'll need!

Good price, heavy duty, order longer than you think you need
This works great and it's really heavy duty. Got this to wrap around pipes in well house should the temps get too low. I should have ordered a longer length, because 6' when wrapped takes up a lot less length than 6 feet, but it will still work. I am impressed with the construction of this and notice it is much heavier duty than other heat tapes we have had in the past. The price is great for all lengths, this is a good product.

Gets the job done!
So far so good I was able to use this product to unfreeze my water line in the basement. Worked as expected, easy to use, no hassle and Ive got no complaints.

Ever have a frozen pipe? Not my idea of fun either...
Got this for my downspout which freezes solid every year. Would also be great for pipes in my crawlspace. So much easier to just plug in on a cold night rather than go to bed worrying my water pipes will freeze again. Not the cheapest heat tape I've ever bought but seems well made so hopefully it won't short out like my last (cheaper quality) one did. Right when I needed it to work. Not exactly an exciting product but oh, are they ever handy!

Great for outdoor water connections
I got this self regulating heat tape to place on my outdoor water connection. I have a fairly long hose that connects to my motorhome from an outside water source. I love that is self-regulating meaning that it will adjust the temperature according to the outside temperature in order to keep the water flowing properly. This will work great in these below freezing temperatures that I'm experiencing now really a great item to have for rv, motorhome living. Comes with a very good instruction booklet detailing how to install and the temperature variations and how it works. Also comes with its own tape to attach to your pipe or hose.

Very industrial
Prior to this pipe wrap I was heating my well house with a space heater and a temperature switch meant for reptile cages. Very sketchy and not very reliable for something that has to work under all circumstances. Moving to the pipe wrap was great because it’s not affected by water build up and moisture. The temperature probe is built in and the whole thing is sealed. Also the end of the plug lights up so you know when it’s on.

Easy to use
With weather starting to dip to below freezing this arrived just in time to keep my outside pipe warm and flowing. This provided warmth as described and keeps the incoming water warmer than without it, especially when the weather is in the 30’s or below. I wish I would have gotten a bit longer than needed as it feels like it just isn’t quite long enough, and the heat part seems to be just under the stated length on the one I have. I made it work by splitting the difference at each end, relying on the heat to spread, but wish it would have covered a little more.
