Install was easy with flex pipe and proper fittings. You will need a 2" to 1 1/2" reducer bushing to fit standard pool pipe. Replacement cartridges are available for this filter. Search for FC-6320 or FC-1638 replacement cartridges.

Paired this with a pump and some plumbing to build a vacuum like the pros use for our ingroung pool. Works like a charm and I don't risk jacking up our expensive equipment

Seems to work great although I am disappointed that this filter came cracked at the bottom.

Well packaged and arrived promptly. We chose this model because inlet & outlet on opposite sides made it easy to install between old pool pump and new Natural Gas pool heater. Pool is in ground but just 14,000 gallons, and 150sf filter allows 6,000 GPH flow. Here are concerns & suggestions: 1) Vendor ignores replacement filter questions. Likely no big deal: they can likely be cleaned a few times before replacement, and I'll bet a Leslie's Pro Store can match it when needed. 2) O rings needed lubrication, and had to re-tighten top cover a couple times. Buy O ring lube and a 36" strap wrench. 3) It's tall & narrow so should be lagged down for stability. That makes it hard to clean, so strongly suggest putting a drain valve in the extra 2" inlet hole. I did not, and must now dig the supplied plug out and replace it with one :>) 4) I don't understand "user friendly automatic pressure relief valve". The supplied valve (white knob in photo) seems 100% manual, and is used to purge air on initial startup or if it's drained down a bit. For insurance we added a 50# inline 3/4" pressure relief valve after the pool heater. (Pressure only, NOT temperature & pressure).

My Hayward 1100 StarClear filter lasted 27 years; amazing. But when it came time to replace it, the old model is no longer available and the new one was $573. This filter is obviously a Chinese knock-off (HaWorld is the brand!), but the included cartridge is high density and 20% more surface area (150) than the current Hayward version (120). Filter is VERY tall, as you can see in photo. I used flexpipe PVC instead of trying to get all the PVC fitting perfect, was relatively easy to do. Total cost including PVC fittings and flexpipe was about $350, and so far nothing leaks, have 6lbs of pressure on the system, tons of volume with my old WhisperFlo pump and generic motor. No complaints so far, will see how it holds up. This type of filtration system is pretty simple, very little to go wrong, and has served my in-ground pool well for the last 27 years. Also, the fittings I bought were the expensive screw-together type, so if anything does leak I can remove and repair without having to re-do everything.

Easy to clean

Easy job for install

We bought this filter to upgrade from a sand filter. It is great! It has been in for about a month and still does not need to be cleaned but I plan on cleaning it anyway. We have a 13500 gallon above ground pool with a 1 hp pump and it works very well.
