I do like this it’s good for starting out did my first run but after the first run and dealing with the chiller pot and the water flow it needs to be updated to the five gallon chiller pot. This one you can not walk away from it you are constantly readjusting the water flow I walked away from it for a second and I had water overflowing lol. But this is good for just starting out my first run I pulled 130 proof and that was off sugar wash.

This still is perfect for those that want to try out home brewing and see if it’s for them. Small enough to not waste a ton getting it started, but big enough to fully understand the process. Metal is sound and can be manipulated easily without breaking.

Take some steel wool, needle nose plyers to bend the copper pipe and you can make a thumper out of what was delivered to you.

Easy to assemble & easy up use

Just the right size for a beginner. Better to avoid direct heat by using something in between the fire and pot.

Have not tried this yet. Seems there should be a long tube that goes into the thumper but not included. Have not tried it yet, just assembled. Instructions are not easily understood. Best to just go by the completed unit photos.

Bought for a friend

Recieved it quickly. Was easy to assemble. Did a quick water distill with thumper and had no leaks. The pots were thick enough, but the big pot (8 gal) had a very visible seam going down it. Hope it holds up over time.The thumper keg didn't have a down tube, but I cut some of the water line from the worm to fashion one and it worked fine. Some simple copper fittings & pipe from the hardware store would be best.Would not recommend the 8 gallon for stovetop use.Overall. A good starter kit.

It's a good still that gives you everything that you need. The main issue is that the silicone seals/washers/gaskets (whatever you want to call them) are not very durable. Be ready to buy extras and have them at hand. Highly recommend doing a test water run before doing anything else. Works well!

i heard some talk about this set up leaking but its air tight. the worm pot and worm should be made a little larger. ive had a problem with it not cooling the steam enough
