Works great!
I love this machine! I can set the boiling temperature below 100°C because I live at 5,700' elevation. It works perfectly at 98°C. That minimizes any carry-over of volatile organic compounds (VOC) into the distilled water. I have made many gallons with this unit - usually 1 gallon daily. It has an automatic shutoff, but I prefer to use a timer set for 3 hours and 15 minutes so it doesn't boil dry. That makes the mineral cleanup easier. Be sure to buy some extra powdered citric acid to dissolve the minerals after each use. I rinse the distiller, then pour a little water in the bottom with a teaspoon of citric acid and let it sit. Cleanup is easy with a bristle brush.

Great for experimenting
I use it for infusing flavors into neutral spirits!

A work horse!
We have used this machine at least twice a day since we got it in November. Never a problem with it. We added a timer and don't let it run all the way down so we don't have to clean it too often. If there was anything I would change, it would be to have a bigger version. We use it for drinking water and ice, and it goes fast! :)

clean water
I can't believe how much comes out of our perfect water, tap water tastes good and is nice and clear but the report of contaminants gave me the urge to clean my water and now its tasteless and clean, I just can't believe how much stuff comes out

I love It!
I received today and tested it by distilling 40% vodka and it works perfect. Only Celsius is available but that's not a big deal to me. Would recommend to everyone!

Excellent Investment
Have to say that this distiller works great and saves me a lot of money. I checked the current draw multiple times and 750 W is accurate (image attached), and for me, it takes just over 3 1/2 hours to fill the 4L glass container so I’m looking at around $0.10 per gallon distilled compared to around $1.10 at the grocery. I’ve only had it for two weeks at this point, but I’ve already saved between $25-$30 just filling my humidifier. This item does need to run a few full cycles before the water comes out odorless, but that should be the same across the board for any distillation apparatus. I haven’t used any of the activated charcoal bags so far because I don’t really see a need, and if I did, I’m not sure they’d provide any real benefit anyway due to the low volume and surface area and loose packing of the charcoal. If you’re worried about VOCs in your tap water, your best bet is to distill the first few ounces into a separate container and discard - this is what distillers do to reduce/eliminate wood alcohol (low boiling VOC) from their finished product - and possibly limit the temp to just above 100C to prevent higher boiling VOCs towards the end, and then it through a filter made and marketed specifically for drinking water to reduce anything left behind. A final note about descaling: these ship with a 4 oz jar of what they call “Fruit Acid.” This is just citric acid which can typically be found for a reasonable price in the canning section of your local grocery, so there’s no need to buy it online. Distilled vinegar also works fine and will not damage the stainless steel of the heating vessel. I tested using ~1 cup of 3% distilled vinegar diluted to the maximum 1.1 gal. volume with tap water and it worked like a champ. Overall, this product is a great investment for anyone looking to keep their humidifier or perhaps automotive coolant system in top shape. A++

Easy to use and handy
This winter there wasn't much distilled water on the shelves. So I found this distiller and started making my own. I use a couple of humidifiers and a vaporizer. So far I have made about 39 gallons and it works great. It takes about 4 hours to make a gallon. I can recommend this product.

It works the way described...
I need a question answered, how often do I need to change the charcoal filter???

I have see descriptions that state this is the same size as an electric kettle, it's not!
I received this distilled water maker from Vevor, free shipping, next day delivery and was amazed at how big and heavy the box was. It was very well packed and despite every effort by FedEx to damage the contents it arrived without a dent or scratch (the outer box had a multitude of cuts dents and scuffs)The manual is a bit of a joke and personally i would have rather had a diagram to show how all the parts fit together. After some searching online i found an illustration that shows where the carbon filter packet goes and how to fit the stainless steel nozzle etc. After filling up the main tank i plugged in the unit and 5+ hours later the water had evaporated into the glass vessel. I threw the first two batches away as advised in the single page manual, the third batch i decanted into glass storage containers for use in my humidifier and for making tea. I should add that for drinking i add a few drops of trace minerals obtained from Amazon.I am skeptical about the claims that 1 gallon of distilled water will only cost 50 cents as this will depend on the cost per KW of electricity in your area. For me the cost to run 750 watts for 5 hours is more like 78cents which is still cheaper than the 88cents charged at Walmart for a gallon of distilled water in a "plastic" container. The reason i purchased this unit was not to save money but for emergency use. As i write this review all local stores within a 50 mile radius have run out of distilled water and have been out for 3 weeks or more. The reason i am given is lack of plastic containers ? Obviously they haven't been swimming in the ocean recently. In closing i will state the water maker seems to work well, it gives off quite a bit of heat which will heat up a small kitchen quickly. OK in the winter but not so good in the summer ! It seems to be solidly built and with care should last quite a time. Sediment does collect on the base of the stainless steel vessel and should be cleaned off after each use. I am using well water
