I was going to make one, but for the price - I bought it. Works great for making kindling. Could be a bit sharper blade, but I just sharpened it. Nice powder coated finish. size is great. I would mount it to a board or stump.
Very useful and easy for splitting the unknotted portion of wood 6” in diameter or less. Otherwise too much pounding with a hand sledge. Well built (welded) and steady on the ground without the need to mount it to a bade.
I saw someone on youtube recommended this product and this makes splitting wood SO easy! As long as the wood isn't too big for it! I had a hard time splitting wood before I bought this but I have no problem at all! The price is so worth it! I definitely recommend this product!
So far I have no complaints on this, it does have holes on the bottom "feet" to bolt it down to something so it's more stable unfortunately that then makes it immobile. It also comes with a cover to put over it.
This was a nice pick up to help me get the fire pit going. Easy to split logs with a small sledge. It comes with screws if you want to mount it to something. Without that, I stabilize with my feet. I might mount it eventually but like that I can easily put it away when not in use. The cover is nice plus.
