A ladder was installed on the front of my 22.2' pontoon boat. I had to extend it out 6" to clear the steering cable. I used 2' of 2" square tube, bolted to the boat with ⅜ ss bolts, and mounted the ladder to the tubing. I topped it with a Trex decking board. A similar ladder from a high-end marine shop runs around $1200.00. See pictures of the start-to-finish install.

We installed the 5-step version on the dock beside our backyard pond, and it's been a fantastic addition. Whether we're swimming, working around the pond, or just cooling off on a hot afternoon, it makes getting in and out of the water much easier and much safer. The aluminum construction feels sturdy without being overly heavy, and once mounted it doesn't have the flimsy feeling that some dock ladders have. The wide, textured steps provide good footing even with wet feet, and the extra fifth step reaches deep enough into the water that climbing out feels natural instead of having to awkwardly pull yourself up. The flip-up design is another feature we really appreciate. When we're not using it, it stores neatly out of the water, which helps keep it cleaner and out of the way. The pull rope makes raising and lowering it quick and easy. Installation was straightforward, and after spending plenty of time outdoors in the elements, it's continued to look and perform great. If you're looking for a quality ladder for a dock, pond, or lake property, this one has been a solid investment. It's sturdy, comfortable to use, and has made enjoying our pond much more convenient.

This well-made ladder is easy to assemble/install and to operate. It has a good design, is made of aluminum, has stainless steel hardware and seems to be secure once assembled. It has a good slope to the ladder, allowing for more gear to be carried while climbing. The width is more than sufficient for your average swimmer and some gear. It has a listed rating of 350 pounds so a good sized athlete could take a hundred pounds or so up or down this safely. When raised, this ladder is likely to be all the way out of the water (and then some) for most any boat. I think it is a good value and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good, affordable ladder that folds up.

This ladder is very sturdy and secure to climb. It was a great addition to our pontoon. The previous ladder had a thin foot area and was difficult to climb. This one is very wide and much easier to climb. Well worth the money.
