Review for VEVOR Cast Iron Water Transfer Pump, 115V AC 1600 GPH 1/2HP, Portable Electric Utility Pump with Carbon Brush, Filter, Brass Connectors, for Garden, Rain Barrel, Pool, Pond, Hot Tub, Aquarium Draining This was ordered during height of Winter, late February, was waiting for more consistent warm weather, we are now able to try out. Pump is sturdy and durable, made of cast iron and metal. Inlet and outlet uses standard size garden hose. We wanted to use pump primarily for power washing and increasing water pressure when watering lawn, instead of purchasing various products that only serve one purpose. This pump has many uses. The only downside is the use of carbon brushes that must be replaced, (per supplier every 200 hours). I don't know how you would calculate usage hours but you don't want brushes to wear down to the spring base, you could get a nasty AC noise feedback into AC line. However, many brushless water transfer pumps are very expensive. This pump is very good for price point and has many uses.

Yes, it does cost more, but worth every penny. I use this pump to empty 50gal water filled drums. Have 150' of 3/4in hose laid out to a lawn sprinkler. It work amazingly, as or more powerful then house water pressure.

I attached the inlet and outlet hoses, primed it, and flipped the on/off switch. I worked great. It filled my 600 gallon water tank from my pond in about an hour. It raised the water up hill about twenty feet and it traveled about 100 feet.

Have had a couple various instances where a transfer pump has been needed, and this one does quite well. Very heavy and built to last it seems, with good transfer. I have good experiences with Vevor products overall and this one is consistent in my expectations as well. Recommend for anyone in need of a transfer pump!

Just the fact that this pump from Vevor comes with an extra set of carbon brushes confirms that this thing is built to last. It is also built to be serviced. It is not a disposable pump. The pump appears to be an all cast iron body weighing in at a solid 17 lbs with the 10’ electrical cord. The pump has an on / off switch and is wired for 110v. This pump needs to be primed before each use by adding water to the inlet valve. It has standard garden hose threaded inlet and out flow ports - marked forever in the cast iron…no stickers to wear off…everything about this pump lets you know it is here to stay - as long as you give it good care, don’t start it dry or run it dry…don’t let it freeze with water in it in the winter… I don’t doubt my husband will still be using this pump as a booster for our sprinkler system 10 years from now. ( we live in the country and have two water wells …plenty of acreage that needs to stay watered to be safe from grass fires spring - summer - fall. ) as well as using it to fill bulk tanks for fire suppression. The largest fire in Texas history was less than 100 miles from us last week. Considering it burned almost 100 miles …in the other direction …it was too close. We have always tried to be ready. Now we are trying even harder. This pump is part of our plan of action. I hope our thoughts and opinions help someone trying to make the right decision for their needs.

I ordered the water transfer pump after having an issue where I needed the water heater in my home replaced. One of the very first steps the plumber did to replace the damaged unit was to drain it and he used a similar water transfer pump. This unit allows for a standard water hose to be hooked up on the in and out ports which make it a valuable tool for transferring water. This unit is very heavy duty and looks way stronger than the unit the plumber had. I now feel prepared to do the job myself if and when the unit needs replacement again, now that I have this water transfer pump.

Great for boiler or water heater changeouts. As long as your drain valve opens fully, this will speed up draining either. Perfect too for cleaning heat exchangers-just make sure whatever cleaning solution you use won’t attack the cast iron body. Useful for adding antifreeze to boiler systems; using a flow meter when you drain a system will give actual volume so you know the percentage of a glycol to add-makes adding glycol or whatever treatment required a snap!

What a great pump with endless uses. It is so easy to use and so convieniant. A perfect pump for flooded basements etc. Just use a garden hose on each end, plug it in and let it do its' thing. It is heavy but has a built in handle to help that. It also comes with an extra set of brushes for the motor. I think that is a nice touch. Remember to prime before each use (an easy job). If you have need to move water for any reason, this is your answer.

You can’t go wrong with this water transfer pump, easy to operate, I’m impressed of how good this pump works and the amount of water it moves, definitely heavy duty and built to last, sturdy and great quality, great value and and good option in the market for similar products
