Just received it
Seems to have arrived in good shape. Seems to have good finish. I dive into it tomorrow and will update this review as needed.

Appears to be decent quality for the super-low price compared to similar models.
So far so good! This is a very preliminary review. This will be my first experience with the mini-lathe size machines, and I have just a few hours of hands-on experience learning some basics on a larger professional-grade lathe. At this point, I've only just unboxed, set up and inspected this "deluxe" version of the Vevor. For the very low price (less than half of many of the brand-names), I was expecting to get maybe mostly usable parts, but really more of a parts-kit than a machine usable out of the box. After initial inspection, not only does it appear that the parts are all good, but it also seems to be assembled and adjusted properly. the slides move easily but with no play in the dove-tail/gib areas. The gears (all-metal gear version of the Vevor) all mesh nicely and are well greased, motor is tightly mounted with good belt tension, and lead-screw turns easily with little play. The lathe powers up and speed control is smooth. Engaging the lead-screw drive train (moving the saddle by power-feed) does not seem to bog the motor down particularly. This lathe has a single speed range (direct belt from motor to spindle), but with a brushed motor rated at 550 watts (versus the 350 watt, geared dual-speed-range arrangement of most other budget models I considered.) I don't imagine this motor will produce as much torque as the more expensive brushless single-speed-range options, but hopefully it will be adequate. I think before I tear it down to clean and tweak, I'll try taking some soft-metal cuts to get a baseline on the factory adjusted state. At such a low price, I'm surprised that even seems like an option. Excited!!! I'll try to update within a few weeks.

this is my first lathe an will be the first one ive used.
it arrived on time, in a wooden crate with the machine bolted to the bottom of the crate. how ever everything that wasn't attached to the machine was left laying loose in the crate including the tale stock. there was some light damage picture, an i dont know if it was from the tale stock or boxes of tools gears or tooling but the plexiglass shield over the chuck was broken. everything else seems to be fine, part of the case where the rpm display power switches an other controls looks like it might be bent but theres no signs of anything being hit an everything lines up so i dont think it took a hit but is more just the shape they decide on the case im not sure but its not bent from being hit but other than this everything looks like it suppose to i assume. the down side of the wood crate, it took a hit at some point an broke some of the wood which ended up with little wood chips inside so before i turned the machine on i took the side cover off an checked to make sure everything looked ok an i found little pieces of the wood chips stuck in the grease on the gears so i cleaned all this out an all the oil off the machine to get that clean of wood an then tried turning it on an nothing, then realized i had removed the shield an left the arm flipped back an when i flipped it back forward the display came on so that was a safety feature i didnt expect from this machine so kinda happy about that, then turned the knob to forward an the rpm knob an slowly made my way through an was able to get it to run from 50ish to 2260ish so i super glued the broken shield back together to have something on the machine an so far with my very little experience it seems to work the way it should, i started with a small piece of wood then went to aluminum an it was very satisfying to work the machine even with not knowing what i was doing but i managed to get the aluminum to come off in a long coil so i took that as good, not 100% if this is what im suppose to go for or if its the chips, i

It’s a good lathe
Had problems with the first lathe, and it was replaced with a new lathe. Happy with the replacement so far.

Came with all the parts
Was not expecting much from all the bad reviews. To my surprise the little lathe was pretty good after doing some fine tuning. Actually had to emery cloth one of the ways to get the bed to move smoothly.Overall not bad.

Pleasantly surprised
This lathe has been a lot of fun to use. I am very happy with the operation. I will mostly be doing aluminum and brass but I found it works well with wood.

Great Lathe
I’m a watchmaker so this lathe needed to be pretty accurate, well, it is. The cross slide is very accurate and I generally use it to make cases and trim parts. It’s able to cut presiding parts. Mind you I’m trained and patient, learn your lathe and take the time to mess up some stuff. I’ve used it for so many things and parts, I hope you all enjoy it as well.
