One photo angle shows a hole through the motor casing on the left side, does this hole go through the 3 jaw chuck? the reason I ask is I work on billiard cue tips and repairs and would like to purchase this lathe if the hole is constant. or maybe you may have another lathe that has a center pass-through hole to work on billiard sticks. It would really help my business expand and speed up the process. Thanking you in advance, Frank Henry.

Have slowly set up and assembled the lathe after receiving it….the wooden frame it was in was all smashed and broken but all the contents were intact and in good shape….started to order the pieces I need to start working with it….thanks to VEVOR for there packaging…..can’t wait to use it…so far very pleased with this lathe

Great lathe if you know what to expect.
I ordered this lathe fully knowing that it's Chinese made and would need some work. I personally enjoy building and modifying tools so I've had more fun repairing and upgrading the lathe then really making anything with it. It says it's a 7-in capacity but that is not true in reality I usually don't get more than about three or four inches. And you have to be creative with your tool positioning to do so. However it can be upgraded with a longer cross slide lead screw if you're into that kind of thing. I'm very happy with vevor. They actually gave me 20% off when I complained about some of the small issues with the lathe. I replaced the cross slide and compound slide Gibbs with Gibbs I bought from Little machine shop and I've been very happy with the lathe. Granted if I could afford a bigger one I would have a bigger one so if you can afford a bigger one I would recommend get the 9 in or 8.7 in version they offer. It's a very fun hobby and I wouldn't have a lathe to play with if it wasn't for vevor. Overall very happy. PS you probably will want to get some new tooling as the stuff that comes with it will work but is not great.

For a 500 dollar lathe, it’s an exceptional value
My lathe shipped from Jersey City and arrived in two days via FedEx to the east coast. The packing crate was undamaged, and the accessories inside were well packed in styrofoam. Everything was tightly assembled, and the tailstock was dead on, requiring no adjustment. I’d also recommend picking up a copy of The Mini Lathe by Neil Wyatt to go along with your purchase. It was very comprehensive in how to set up and adjust the lathe for a novice like myself.

Works great and came ready to go
Some of the reviews mention some problems that I figured I could fix. But then my lathe showed up and it was great. Chuck is mounted square, tail stock was aligned, and all the gibs were reasonably adjusted. I have done several projects with great success although I have not tried any full length things to see if cuts with a bit of taper. At any rate, if you're thinking about getting one of these, and have low expectations but it shows up like this one, you'll be happy as a clam.

So far so good
I bought this lathe to replace an almost identical lathe (different badge name) that I smoked the motor on. This one has a few improvements, such as mettle knobs and mettle feed change gears. So far it is doing good. I've made some precise parts and have pushed it to the limits of it's capacity in both length and diameter, working with aluminum mostly.
