Beautiful Red Water Distiller
I was tired of buying distilled water and decided it was time to purchase a Water Distiller. I read many reviews before I made my purchase with VEVOR. Due to reasons of an after-taste, I wanted to get the distiller with a glass pot. My order arrived sooner than expected. I washed everything very well and decided to run the machine a couple of times to make sure it was clean. On the first cycle, there was a plastic smell to the water. I washed the machine again and ran another cycle. This time I tasted the water. It again had a plastic smell and funny taste. I ran the cycle again for the 3rd time and the funny taste and smell was still there. After washing the machine again, I thought about the only thing I hadn't done...removing the charcoal water filter. I took it out and it had that plastic smell. I removed the charcoal filter and ran the cycle again. This time the water was perfect. I went out and purchased some charcoal water filters locally and the Distiller has been working wonderfully. PROS: I love the color. The distiller is very easy to use. The temperature is preset but you can change it if you want to. It isn't very heavy. It can hold 4L of water and that will take almost 4 hours to make a full pot of distilled water. After using the machine many times, I found what works best for me. Filling the tub to the full line mark inside the container, will take almost 30 minutes before distilled water begins to drip faster. What I do is fill the container to just below the full mark so it heats faster. Then I run the distiller for 3 and half hours. You don't want the tub to completely dry up...that is when scorching and lime caking in the container can happen faster. I found that by adding a little less than the mark and running for 3.5 hours leaves around 8 oz of water to throw out. The box comes with citric cleaner for the hard water build up and an extra charcoal filter. Very easy to use. CONS: The charcoal filter produced a funny, pl

So far, an excellent distiller
We got this last week. Took a bit to assemble but once done, we filled it with soapy water, turned it on, and it did exactly what it claimed to do. It produced almost 1 gal of distilled water in about 3.5 hours. We dumped that out, rinsed the distiller and glass pot, refilled it and turned it back on. Again, we produced about 4 L in 3.5 hrs. We have mixed that distilled water with the filtered water we previously generated in a pitcher, to produce a 50:50 mix of filtered tap water and distilled water. So far, the result tastes great and is much healthier. The unit turns off when empty, turns on with a simple push of a button, is easy to dissemble for cleaning/rinsing, is easy to fill, and generates the distilled water we want. It has been working perfectly for about a week now. So far, so good! If it breaks or malfunctions in the future, I will edit this post to say so.

Bought this 11 months ago
I bought this 11 months ago and it still works great just like the day I bought it. My only issue is I do still have to run the water through a filter, it doesn't seem to get rid of the chlorine smell/taste. However I live on the Mississippi so there is a lot of chlorine in our tap water. So it could just be due to that.

A gallon every 3 1/2 hours.
I love that I no longer have to recycle plastic jugs!

Totally can not work on the 13th month
I expect it can be used in 2-3 years, but it just stop working since the 13th month, feel a little said.

So far so good!
I purchased this distiller specifically for the humidifiers I just purchased and for my pretreat machine I use for my business. I would say the most difficult and frustrating part of this distiller was assembling the handle. It is impossible for 1 person to do alone. You definitely need an extra set of hands for that. That's the reason I left off 1 star. Good thing it's a one and done and not something that needs to be done again. The 1st batch of distilled water I made turned out perfectly. I used the default temp of 105 degrees and timing setting of 3:30 hrs. I filled the water up to the fill line and it made almost a gallon of water in 3:30 hrs. I've done 4 batches so far and haven't run into any issues. I used the cleaning salt that came with the distiller to clean out the sediment and it worked great. So far I like it and think it will be convenient for me to not have to purchase distilled water at the store.

Best distiller I've ever had
I have been using a distiller making a gallon a day for years (then filtering it and adding 75 ionic trace minerals with Fulvic Humic Acid). Distilled water leaches minerals from the body. This distiller is well made (with a handy handle) and the shut-off feature keeps it from boiling down and baking on the residue, making it easy to clean. It is quite quiet and makes a gallon faster than my last distiller. So I am very happy with it (and the comparatively low cost, including a glass - not plastic container). Highly recommended for those in the know about the latest health factors; especially due to the toxic (venomous) city tap water. Do not even let pets drink that.

Great Purchase
Solid 4+ stars, assuming it lasts. Time will tell, but it seems well-built. I bought this for our humidifiers and espresso machine, and now I use it for drinking water too (after seeing what was left in the pot). We don't have whole-house water filtering, and both tap water and filtered Samsung refrigerator water leave a lot of cloudy white residue in the pot after each run. I expected city tap to leave residue, but I was surprised and disappointed in how cloudy the leftover "filtered" water from the fridge was. We'll see how long these units last, but so far so good. I'm running my 2 units every day, and each one distills 1 gallon in 3.5 hours. I clean the pot with vinegar from a spray bottle to remove the deposits. This would be a 5-star product if the plugs went into a base that you lifted the pot from. To clean it (and possibly to refill it, depending on your setup), you need to unplug both the heater plug and the fan plug from the pot, which I think is inconvenient if you're doing it a lot. Other improvements to make this a 5-star product: - Include a simple 18x9 inch mat or tray to allow the pot and the pitcher/container to be moved together. Not a big deal, but Vevor could have included a thin, inexpensive plastic/Teflon/polypropylene mat (like you put on wire shelving) to allow the unit and the pitcher to be easily moved together. I cut my own mat, and I'm keeping it because I like it a lot. Should have been included in my opinion. - Include a 90 degree C14-to-C13 plug adapter for the heater plug. The cooling fan plug for the top of the unit already has a 90 degree plug, but the heater plug does not. If you're unplugging your unit a lot, you probably will want to get one of these. - This unit has its own power switch, but I also added a 1875 watt outlet switch so I can easily turn off the power to the cord. Maybe that's a little too much "goggles and rubber boots to change a light bulb" but I figured I don't want a live wire falling onto the counter when I unplug the unit to dump the leftover electrolyte-filled water, so I just flick the switch on the outlet before I unplug the unit's two cords to empty/clean/refill. Overall, this unit is great deal. Definitely beats lugging around water from the store at 8+ pounds per gallon, and when you see what is in your water, you may be very glad to have this. I am. My coffee tastes better, and I'm hoping the espresso machine boiler will last longer too. I also notice our sodastream seltzer water tastes better too. Assuming this lasts, this is a very strong 4+ star product, easily made a 5-star product with a few inexpensive additions (18x9 inch mat, 90 degree plug, and 1875W (15 amp) outlet switch), which you can easily do on your own for under $20. Thank you, Vevor!

Works
Works great. Make sure you set the temperature to 212F or below. Otherwise you will steam the metals back into the water. And YES, water does start to boil before 212F.
