You might need the backing plate

I replaced an old leaking teleflex helm with this one, but I didn’t realize it wouldn’t mount without the backing plate kit, luckily my local marine store had one in stock.The steering is like new, and was an easy replacement.

Great case..

Very easy to install and the type of screws it brings to tighter the pump. Didn't even had to bleed the lines since there were already oil on them. Just added oil the the pump turn the steering wheel couple of times and it began to work.

2 years and flawless so far.

On a 96 Stratous 288dc w/150 Intruder and can steer with my finger no mater where the hot foot is.
