Blades are very sharp. Unit comes with replacement blades. I use store bought ice and works great. Easy to clean.

This should not be a commercial machine since it does not use a frozen block of ice; however, this machine is perfect for home use. It is some what loud, but it is very fast. I used it while camping and all the kids in the campground came to enjoy a snow ball

This machine is GREAT! We are absolutely loving it. It shaves the ice to a snow-like texture and that is exactly what we wanted! It was exactly as described in the description. It is very safe, so safe that I let the kids make their own "snow cones" or powder snow ice for their drinks. Highly recommend! 5+
