It's crap. Don't buy it.
Had it for about a year. The water tastes metallic and gross, so I mostly used it for my aquarium and humidifier. I was happy with it before the inside rusted through and dumped boiling water all over my kitchen floor. Stainless steel my ass. I didn't see the rust due to the mineral scale that forms inside.Don't buy this. It's a cheap, crappy machine, cobbled together in China. You get what you pay for, and now I get to pay for new floors.I did like that it was red though.

Ease to use
The product seems sturdy and efficient. We fill the container with hot water; after the temperature is set, it will produce new water until the end. The fan does make quite a bit of noise, but if you leave it to a place farther away, it won't bother you. What important is the water produced tastes well. The deposit on the inside of the steel tank is visible after a few days of use, but it does not require constant cleaning.

Great product, Great seller
I have two of these. I did have to return one but the other is still working awesomely. For hints and tips let the item steam off the top for about an hour at 108 degrees before putting the fan on, then turn down to 105 degrees for the remainder. This will give me a 0 or 1 reading on TDS.

First Time Buyer
I purchased this appliance for the first time to eliminate the need to buy bottled, distilled water. It worked perfectly. The instructions were not readable but I went to YouTube and reviewed the available videos on how to set it up and to clean the unit after use. Good purchase.

Distillation thumbs up taste thumbs down
001ppm. Came with a disgusting hard metallic taste and smell. It taste the way it smells!! I got rid of the carbon pack it was not helping absorbing that taste and smell. With much cleaning and soaking the sprout nosil and using lime and lemon running it through the pipes it helped tremendously!! With more runs & cleaning the awful taste & smell seemed to be going away. I really want to keep this thing!! At one point I felt like if it didn't get better it'd have to be returned, it was unbearable!! My tap was tasting better than this. It defeated the purpose on the tasting but it does distill very well. Ppl clean this thing thoroughly before using it (the parts that can be cleaned). That factory metal has a strong taste and smell to it.

Great distiller, not a great carafe
I am giving this distiller 5-stars because it works and the temperature control is a nice feature. I do not like the carafe. It is a cheaply made product and is not very safe, with the long screws. There are no good instructions for use. The only instructions are in English but are very very tiny. I am 50 and cannot read them easily. So why am I giving this 5 stars? It is as good if not better than competing products. It can be adjusted for temperature which makes it adequate for distilling other fluids besides water.I was not able to find a replacement for my carafe which broke (partly because of a bad design and partly because I put the lid on wrong) Ultimately many of you are not wanting to distill only a single gallon of water because like me the main reason you bought this is that you are tired of buying water because you use it a lot.I have a BiPap, an aromatherapy diffuser, a pet water fountain (less algae), and so much more.So since I plan to use many vessels instead of filling other bottles from a clunky and heavy carafe I went and got a 5/16" food-safe tubing from a home brewing/distillery store nearby and put it on the metal nipple, fits tight enough that I don't need a clamp.I bought 4 ft. and it only took a little over 2. You can easily cut the tubing with kitchen shears. I am using a glass brewing jug (1 gallon). The picture shows my setup.Using tips from others:1. Put a 1/16 of a teaspoon of activated charcoal in the water to be distilled or your finished water. It is edible so doesn't matter. I found this to taste better than using the charcoal packet. Whichever you choose is up to you.2. I am experimenting with how long to brew my water to leave a wet slurry and not generate harder to remove scale. It was suggested by one person to use an appliance timer. I might do that later, but for now I use my phone's timer.3. Add 1/4 tsp (per gallon) Pink Himalayan salt to the water you intend to drink, it returns needed body minerals and makes the water taste
