I was immediately happy with the quality when I unboxed the unit. It feels solid, with quality stainless surfaces. Basket, drain hose, basic instructions, and electrical cord are all included, as well as a small basket for little items you might want to clean. The timer and temperature selections are basic and easy to use. LED displays are clear and easy to read, and you have positive feedback on any button pushes with a beep. Temperature is displayed only in Centigrade. Initial temperature increase seems to be about 10C per 5 min. Selected an old intake manifold as the first test, basket was able to accommodate entire piece without further disassembly, But this was a very small manifold (1100cc engine). I used auto parts solvent, and was able to fill the unit adequately with one gallon. I could have probably used another 1/2 gallon with the item I had. Set temperature was reached predictably. The thermostat does allow approximately 10C overshoot, which is acceptable for this type of device, but more importantly, the temperature was maintained consistently. Ultrasonic operation is noisy (sounds a bit like nails on chalkboard) but easily isolated by closing a door, as the sound is high frequency and doesn't penetrate walls and doors. Overall, the combination of vibration and heat did a very nice job on the intake manifold. Picture shows untouched item as removed from liquid after about 20 minutes of treatment. A light brushing restored a polished aluminum surface, as the oil and grime coatings had been thoroughly loosened. Clean up using the drain hose was easy and efficient. allowing recapture and re-use of cleaning fluid.Overall a good value for the price, and useful addition to my garage. Would definitely recommend to a friend!
