It is not shiny, it has brushed stainless finish. No installation instructions included.**The included 12mm (1/2") masonry drill bit is large. It will have a tendancy to "dance" out of the holes you have marked. If a hole or holes is just a tad out of alignment, you will have problems. Suggest you buy a couple of small drill bits; drill the hole with the smallest, move up to the next size and then finally use the 12mm. This should keep your hole within tolerance.**Do not drill all the holes at once. Drill one hole at a time, then check alignment. Alignment, alignment, alignment.**Do use a hammer-drill that is has a chuck large enough to accept the 12mm bit. I tried a regular drill and got nowhere. Hammer-drill makes it easy.**Do use a shop vac to clean up/out dust surrounding area and out of the holes.**Sunny install day: shade yourself with umbrella. Knee pads/kneeler pad recommended.**The included wrench for bolt tightening is neither practical or sufficient. Use/beg/borrow/steal a 13mm socket/ratchet to tighten the bolts.**If the included metal inserts won't fit flush with the surface even though you are certain you have drilled deep enough and have removed the dust from the bottom of the hole, get a wide-blade metal putty knife, put it atop the insert and hammer on the putty knife until the inserts set flush. The installation is not difficult IF IF IF you have the proper tools and you get the alignmentholes drilled in .
