Wanted to get an inexpensive wheel to start a simple home studio. This will definitely get the job done, though professional wheels are most certainly better long term if they’re in the budget. Be aware that this thing is tiny but as you can see in the photo $10 worth of cinder blocks will get this up to a good height and keep it from moving around on you. If you’re throwing bigger pieces you may have trouble centering and keeping the wheel spinning at a consistent pace but I’m happy with it so far for mugs and other small pieces. Glad to have an option to get throwing at home for way less money.

I do like the wheel, but the day after I purchase it, the price went down by $5. It may be not much, but still, I wish I waited one more day!

This product was not intended to replace the $2,000 unit, but at less than 1/10th the price, I think it does a plenty good enough job.It handles smaller batches of clay just fine. I think it would be hard to center a large amount of clay, because the motor is kind of weak.

The unit is bigger yet smaller than expected. Seems like a decent product considering the source. They used a mandrel with belt drive and the motor is controlled using a motorcycle throttle on the inside. Cheap but fully repairable for handy people. I installed a batt on it and the weight of the batt combined with the weight of the clay seemed very stable and powerful smooth. Honestly for 130 bucks it’s worth it.

I'll start off with the good. It's perfect for beginners and kids. I've made a lot of bowls in the month that I've had this wheel and it's still going strong. If you are just getting into ceramics, I would recommend this product or something very similar.The bad, I never received my Apron that was advertised, the ones in the picture I bought separately. I did receive the tools though.If you plan to do big ceramic projects, this wheel is not for you. It has trouble with the motor with my muscle/weight trying to center anything that's bigger than a normal small bowl.
