I have been looking for a latch jig for a long time! Glad I found this one and at a reasonable price.

If you do this for a living, get a UK or US made tool, etc. This things works pretty well and is a great value, but it's not amazing.

I haven’t used it yet but I can’t wait to use it I have to get a fast drill you need a fast drill you can’t do it with a battery drill it’s not gonna to work right I tried it.

Although I've been doing interior remodeling for going on 20 years, I've never really needed to mortise a door from both the edge and sides to install door hardware. I suppose most of my door work has been pretty conventional. My client ordered an expensive Emtek pocket door latch and I needed a mortice jig for the install. This one took a little time (and some practice on a 2x4) to get to understand the function, but it did the job well and the install was a complete success. I used a standard 1/2" Dewalt corded drill to power the cutting bit. My only criticism is that the cuts from multiple directions leave somewhat ragged corners. Easy to clean up with a small saw but somewhat irritating. Overall, I'm confident this tool will do the job whenever I may run across the need to mortise again.

For the price, I was afraid it might be lightweight and flimsy. But the online videos made it look substantial and indeed it is a well-built tool. We were surprised to find almost no mortise installation services in town - and the one that said they could do it would only do 1 3/4" doors. Our 1 3/8" interior door had few options until we found this tool. It worked great! Adjustable for width, height, and depth. Recommended. And for the price, a real bargain.
