1200watt solar pool pump review
Pump seems reasonable build quality and brushless variable speed should be less wear, but I guess you still need to replace the seal once a year, source for it? The 900watt is for 1.5" pipes, the 1200watt pump is for 2" pipes, so you maybe have make cuts and adapters on your pvc pipes. The 10meter (32.8feet) red/black panel cables are 14AWG and no y-adapters are included but you need to run series-panels in Parallel to get the 90-120volt at around 1500watt., I ended up finding used 180watt panels at 17/cent a watt, so I do 4x2. Leehitech 1 Pair Solar Panel Connector Y Branch, is only $4.56 and jamgoer 30FT 12AWG is $26 (not necessary but recommended), Use the extra mc4 connectors you get with these two additions and then use the included vevor 14awg to make patch cables going to the y main trunk.

Moves less water than the 1.5hp it replaced, but adequate on high setting
Replaced a name brand pump that was making noise. This pump is quiet. The flow is less than the 1.5 hp it replaced on the high setting and the low setting is of no use.It was a reasonable priced pump, so we will see how long it lasts. I am not disappointed, but was hoping to be able to run it on the lower setting and save some electricity. Will update after some use.

Working well so far (6 weeks)
Replaced a single speed 3/4 motor. I was worried at first because the new one was so much smaller. The pool is in ground and 10k gal so it shouldn’t need a large motor. Hooked it up with 120v and on high it would prime, but did not make enough pressure for the heater to turn on. The safety system didn’t think the pump was running. I wired it up with 240v and it has been working great! Still not enough pressure on low, but even on high it is still quieter than my old one (even after replacing the bearings).

Dual Speed But Not 110
Returned product as it is 110 and not 220. Manual had instructions for the dual 110/220 but this one was not dual powered. The switch to change speeds had no cover to protect it from the outside elements (or someone accidentally hitting the switch) like other dual speed pumps. The tiny screws to are a royal pain too.

Great Price....
1) Not so sure about GPM or that HP ratings meaning much. This 1.5HP Pump is only pushing slightly more water than my 1PH unit. (little more water over the waterfall). I was afraid the 2HP would be too much for my Filter... but I suspect it would not. Guess the question might be what this pump cost in electricity to operate over the 1HP it's replacing?2) Got this for the 2 Speed option, during summer really need to almost run 24/7 in Florida for my salt water chlorine generator to keep up. But on the low setting this thing isn't doing much at all. (Water just trickles down the glass of the waterfall.) Will see what I can get by with between running on low vs high.3) Is extremally quite... old one might have been more quite when it was new, but this thing is a huge difference.4) No problem with it priming itself on first go (I did fill the basket with water and let it run back into the pool for a bit). Have and inground pool and this pump is about 30' away from it.5) Instruction are pretty useless.... one LINE IN is on the SWITCH and one LINE IN is one the main motor - both are marked (if you have perfect vision) You will need female spade connectors to make the electrical connection... glad I had some. Old wiring was #12 Solid, I replaced it with some #14 Stranded which made it much easier to work with.6) As someone else stated... it does run hot or at least the pump metal housing gets pretty hot. So I'm glad I paid for the extra warranty.7) In the end a one for one replacement of my existing "quality" pool pump that lasted six years... would have costed about $900. I got this for $173, plus 5% back from using my Amazon Card. I view it as a disposable pump - will likly find out how these Asurion coverage plans work.

Mr
Only been in service for past three weeks so to early for getting a good insight to overall quality. But from what I have found to date I will give very good rating. Unit was easy to wire up and install. Motor and pump are putting out what it is stated and both are quite. Only negative thing I find is the lid for basket is not as heavy built as I would have liked to see. That being the only issue I’ve found to date would say excellent value for monies spent!

Awesome pump!
I was a little skeptical buying a pool pump on Amazon but this one was great! It was easy to install and it makes almost no noise at all! I am so glad that I made this purchase!
