Hi I recently purchased this Vevor 300 watt 12 volt transformer. I have two questions regarding this transformer. 1. Is this transformer UL rated. 2. Where is the auto reset circuit breaker located in this transformer ?

Hello Jafri. There is no UL rated .The transformer has overload protection and  there is a recoverable temperature insurance inside the transformer. It will be automatically disconnected when the temperature reaches 130 degrees and it will recover automatically when the temperature drops to 70 degrees.

Low voltage transformer; no instruction manual??? I've worked with a lot of these and never had one that doesn't have a 110 volt connection/plug! I assume I use the terminals labeled and Ov for the 12 volt wire out, but how do I connect a 110 volt wire in?? I got it from Amazon and will be returning it unless I can get some instruction to make it work...

Supplanted 4 power supplies with this 300W unit. I used a terminal block to distribute AC power to 4 trunk lines that feed around 40 lights of various wattages The unit is covered so cannot comment on weatherability.

Well-Built, Quality 120VAC/12VAC Transformer and Enclosure
The lighting transformer I ordered a couple of days ago, arrived early. There was some external damage to the shipping box, but it's well-packed inside foam and the transformer did not sustain any damage. At first glance, overall, the pool light / landscape lighting transformer looks well-built. The finish on the enclosure looks like it will hold up in an outdoor environment. The screws that secure the cover are likely to rust, so I plan to replace them with stainless steel screws to prevent any rust staining on the outside of the enclosure. I do like the provision for two separate 12-volt wires to exit the enclosure. Typically, I use non-metallic (NM) conduit for the wires that go into the ground to prevent damage at the bottom from lawncare and rodents, so I'll just enlarge them to accept a 1/2\" conduit adapter. The input side (120VAC) will work fine, as is, because the input power lead doesn't need extra protection. The enclosure is labelled with the following: \"There is high pressure inside...\", so I was very careful removing the two cover screws. I'm sure they meant \"high voltage\" and not high pressure. Even more intriguing is paragraph 2 of the supplied manual: \"This power transformer can only prevent light rain, but not heavy rain\". Wow, California should install a bunch of these to prevent atmospheric river events. The enclosure appears to be sufficiently raintight, similar to other raintight enclosures. Careful placement out of the way of irrigation sprinklers should be sufficient to prevent water damage. All kidding aside, it appears to be a quality transformer and enclosure in need of a little improvement in product marking and installation instructions. Of course, time will tell how well it performs.

It is a basic transformer in a strong weather proof case, which is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want timers, electronic PCB's that would deteriorate in the Florida humidity, I wanted a basic transformer in a fairly weather proof box....and this delivers exactly that. The connections are obvious to anyone with basic electrical experience. It is designed to be hard wired (no plug) but that is what I wanted. The fact it offers 12/13/14V connections is a nice to have. I was running a line about 80ft from the transformer, tuned out 12V was enough, but should I have had voltage drop the 13/14V connections would have been there for me. It is solidly built and I expect it to be good for 20+ years.
