Once the main power switch in turned on, does this power washer automatically start and stop the motor when the trigger is pulled and released, like most electric pressure washers?

My pump was not shipped with a 240V NEMA 6-15 plug. I'm not sure why, but it was shipped with a L5-20P twist-lock plug and isn't functional when plugged into that circuit. It makes a low noise as if it doesn't have enough power. My electrician tells me that if the device pulls 240v at 22 amps, he can replace your plug with a NEMA 14-50 plug and I can plug it into the circuit normally used by my electric car charger. Is that correct?

Is this a universal or an induction (brushless) motor? Can it be mounted outside?

Which 240V plug type does this pressure washer require? There seem to be several different configurations available.
