I have installed hundreds of the top brand dehumidifiers as an HVAC contractor, so when I saw the price point for this Vevor I was very skeptical. Considering it was my personal property I gave it a try and so far I have been very impressed. It is well-built, easy to move with the attached handles, and the built-in screen (that can be mounted remotely too) is far nicer than anything you will see on the big brands for 2.5x the price. Time will tell how if it lasts for the long haul, but so far I am sold on using it for future projects as well.

Great product overall! Important to make sure you keep a significant height difference between the drain outlet and wherever the end of the tube is (i drain mine into a Vevor pump) The first day it leaked all over and I had to raise up the whole dehumidifier by a foot then it's been working great since then. It's pretty quiet, uses a decent amount of power though - around 540 watts and about 3 - 6 KW.h/day. I'm about one day it dropped my crawlspace humidity from 77% to 55%! Very impressed. It's also really nice you can attach the LCD screen to the extension cable and run it to somewhere else. I ran the cable through a hole in my floor so I can monitor and control the unit from inside the house. One negative is the existing lcd screen is a little fragile and when you push on it to change settings there is distortion in the display and it takes a couple seconds to normalize again. I'm afraid that might be the part that gives out. My only suggestion would be to add a smart Wi-Fi connected version or upgradable monitor connection that could plug into an existing unit. I'll add photo in the future!

I am pleased with the performance of this unit so far. It is quiet and handles my entire (small) house without a problem. I had a little trouble understanding how to use the control panel, but by re-reading the manual and experimenting with the buttons I figured it out. One non-essential piece was missing in the shipment, but customer support got right back to me and has kept me updated on the shipment of the part. Easy to install, but heavy for one person.

Q: Can I use the dehumidifier immediately after receiving it?

A: Since the unit contains a compressor, please keep it upright for at least 8 hours before plugging it in, especially if it was tilted or transported over a long distance. This helps protect the internal components.

Q: Why are there water droplets inside the machine?

A: Each unit is fully tested before leaving the factory to ensure safety and performance. If you notice residual water inside the tank or system, it's a result of quality testing — not a sign of previous use. You can use it with confidence.

Q: Is it normal if the compressor doesn’t start immediately after turning the unit on?

A: Yes. To protect the compressor from frequent starts and prolong its lifespan, the system is designed to delay compressor restart for about 3 minutes. This is a normal safety feature.

Q: How does the smart defrost function work?

A: At low temperatures, frost may form on the evaporator or condenser. When detected, the unit enters defrost mode: the compressor stops, and the fan runs to melt the frost. After defrosting, the unit resumes normal operation.

Q: Why is warm air coming out of the machine?

A: During operation, the dehumidifier pulls in humid air and releases drier air that is slightly warmer than room temperature. This is due to the internal heat exchange process and is completely normal.
