This pump does a decent job, certainly moves water very well. But when I purchased it, I did not see anything in the listing mentioning that this is not a self-priming pump. Basically, this means you need to flood your uptake hose with water, so the first few rotations of the motor are not dry. Not a great option for something like this, you really want to self-priming pump. Outside of that one significant omission in their listing, it does a really good job. I'm using it to empty out water in my hydroponic system. When I'm refreshing. It absolutely moves the volume it says it will. Be aware, like many pumps, the size it is exceptionally loud. But if you're only using it for a few minutes like I am, it's really not a big deal.
