The description states you have everything you need to get started, with a picture of the intake screen on the blue hose. Why would the screen be on the blue hose which is used for the OUTLET hose and there isn't a hard suction hose offered for the INTAKE (where the screen should go). The description is very misleading to say the least! OR, can you get suction with the blue hose as the intake hose?

The blue hose is the outlet pipe. You need to purchase the water inlet hose yourself. The water inlet hose is a steel wire hose.

Works great, but build quality needs attention
Upon opening the box, the air cleaner was a jar, it would not snap into place because the motor location is too far to the side because of the welded motor mounts. I had to cut an inch out of the top of the air cleaner housing to make it Fit and hold the element securely in place. With my first use, it was awesome until I stopped and realized that there was gas draining out of the carburetor because the bowl drain plug had vibrated loose and fell out, luckily I was able to retrace my path and find it . So far two weeks in and it is performing flawlessly.

Trash pump
I filled with oil and gas and started up with a half pull of the rope and runs amazing! Very easy to start and worked well. I did notice it doesn't put out as much discharge pressure as my old pump did. Still gets 5 stars, because it works perfect for what I'm using it for. If you need lots of pressure, maybe get a bigger pump. Well worth the price.

Great pump for the money!
Bought this pump and was by far the best packaged item I have ever had delivered! The quality and fit and finish of the pump is great as well. I put oil, gas into the engine and started right up no issues. I have used it a couple times with clean water out of a tank and it will move the water fast! Can't find a better pump for the money.
