This vice worked well for me. I needed a vice for woodworking and mounting to a workbench with a 1" top. Bear in mind, when you purchase, that you have to come up with your own handle and I would recommend jaw inserts (I used two 3/4" maple scraps and mounting hardware.
It is my first time having this kind of vise, so I might be wrong. It is a little wabble/ loose, but it does the job. If I only use one side, I have to put scrap pieces in the other end( idk if they always like that. Overall great value.
