strong, easy to install.

I purchased this (the 10.2 inch vise)due to the price after comparing it to many other brands that look nearly identical, but cost twice to three times as much. This does not have a brand cast into it, but it seems very similar to other quick-release store brands. It is a heavy and sturdy vice, but I've not had much time to use it to test the quick release or its clamping strength. I don't see anything that would cause it not to perform any different from certain other brands I've test in stores. Overall for the cost it is far better than any smaller bench vice available at local big box stores.

You cant beat this vice for cost vs studiness! This thing is built like a tank! Added some hardwood pads and a dowel rod I got from Home Depot and I believe I could clamp my car to my workbench with this thing! It'll last forever!

Overall pleased with this product for the price. Cast iron handle attachment is installed slightly off center, but does not effect operation of the vise. Would recommend this vise to others!

I'm constructing a new workbench so, I haven't installed this vise yet. It seems to be well constructed and easy to operate. I will update this review after I get it installed.UPDATE: Vise is installed and working OK. I installed some 6/4 Ash faces and an Ash handle and it works just fine. The description of this vise is INCORRECT though. There is not a "quick release mechanism" on this vise. At least not on the one I received. I realized this going in though, so I wasn't surprised. It matches the pictures and obviously, they are not pictures of a vise with a quick release.

This thing is built like a tank! Heavy duty and strong holding.

This item is more that I expected.

For the price, this is a winner! solid manufacturing , smooth action gears.I highly recommend this vice!

worth it

Mounted on a pre-existing bench using the front frame as back piece. Holds items solidly without damage to the item. Not a quick-release, but easy to adjust.
